I've been having so much fun seeing what other people did at Sketchcrawl that I decided to post the rest of mine.   Century plants in bloom.   We stopped for pizza at a place right behind the trees in this sketch.

We had ten artists at Sketchcrawl today.  The most stubborn of us kept at it from 10am until almost 3pm (with a lunch break).  Here is a sketch of one of the other artists doing a watercolor painting in a coutyard in downtown Tempe.

I've been meaning to paint more snakes, so here's another one.  Based on the Big Mouth concept from last week.

Here's another bokeh abstract.  This one is based on my signature, but I think it looks a little bit like flames.

Today's chiustream challenge was to paint the topic "Big Mouth".  My lesson learned?  Start with a smaller canvas.  This one was 4800 x 4800 px, which is really too big for a speed paint.

This is my entry for Kei Acedera's cheshire cat challenge.  We had a week to do it but I waited too long so instead had only a day.

To me, life drawing feels a lot like taking a difficult exam in school.

The challenge on Chiustream today was to paint a Dodo bird.  Time limit of one hour.  There were some pretty amazing entries.

Did some bird sketches today. This one is a brown pelican.

Sketch of a Sphinx cat based on a photo.  And yeah, the cross was in the photo.  Sphinx cats are the ones that appear hairless and all wrinkly.

In spite of the Super Bowl, I'm happy to say that we still had a respectable showing at Sketchy Doodle today.

This old lion has seen better days, but he appeared content.  And very sleepy.

I attended a drawing session today with the Westside Creatives.  This is my third sketch of the day, a palm tree surrounded by other plants around the base.

The chiustream challange today was to paint our own AVATAR.  In my defense, I haven't used colored pencils since ... never.

I had to draw this cat three times to get the stance right.

Sketch of a serval, which is a mid-sized African cat with very good hearing (no kidding, those big ears are for real).  I've been using a new pencil from Caran d'Ache (black 496), something snooty from Switzerland.
