My brother found this spider on the path, also in Missoula.  His photo turned out better than mine, but I just can't seem to resist posting a macro image.  The actual spider was probably about a quarter inch long, maybe slightly larger.

I think these things are so cool.  I used to try to keep them as pets when we'd find them on the trail.  We found this one in a car in Missoula Montana and we set it free on some sort of purple-leaf bush.

Every year on June 30th, we celebrate being cat people.  It's called Cat Folk Day.  As coincidence would have it, I needed a topic for my new slide show demo, which also debuts today.

Yesterday was almond harvesting day.  I had never really noticed before what pretty stripes they have.

Spot Cat mostly sleeps these days, but every once in awhile she'll stay awake long enough to pose for the camera.  She's been with us since 1993.

She stayed white for a few hours, which I guess is pretty good by dog standards.

I've been busy programming this month, so not much to show visually.  But I did have fun creating a new Spore creature.

Just recently published this new website for Haldiman Farm in south Phoenix.  I was really impressed with Joan's empathy and compassion.  Those are some very lucky horses.

We saw quite a few creeks so I'm no longer certain, but I believe this is Granite Creek.  It runs right through Prescott Arizona.  There's nothing really special here, I just like this kind of scenery.

I want to laugh every time I see a sign for Big Bug Creek.  It invokes some really interesting imagery, kind of like the Spore Creepy and Cute pack.  I'm sure the original settlers didn't think it was so funny.

I captured a picture of this UFO from the car window on the way to Prescott Arizona.  It seemed to be moving pretty fast, at least as fast as our car.  What an amazing coincidence.

I did the line work on this graphic for the North American Diatom Symposium (NADS).  Dennis Vander Meer designed the original concept.

The CCF Cheetah Run was this morning.  I finished the 5k run/walk at a not-so-speedy 53 minutes.  It looked like a good turnout, so hopefully they raised some serious money to help with cheetah conservation.

We had a duck nesting in our front yard.  This photo is from several weeks ago.  She has unfortunately abandoned the nest since then, so no ducklings for us to see this year.

Finished painting of the Easter Bunny sketch from last week.  The bunny and egg (minus the background) are meant to be printed at CafePress, so that's why the shadow doesn't follow the contour of the background.

This poor guy looks like he had a few too many candy chocolate eggs.  Or one really big one.

My what big eyes you have!  Maybe it's makeup.  Yeah, that's what it is.

Today was the Paw Placement Trail Trek fundraiser.  It looked like a good turnout to me.  I hope they made a ton of money so that they can keep doing what they do for the cats and dogs.

Green Mountain Dew for St Patrick's Day, courtesy of a few drops of food coloring.  I was so focused on the bubbles that I almost dipped the camera lens in to the Dew while taking this photo.

Almond Tree flowers - this photo is from several weeks ago.  The tree is now covered in fuzzy green almond shells.
