I used a photo reference for this sketch of a "Weeping Angel" from the Doctor Who episode entitled 'Blink'. While this one isn't actually weeping, that was the name of the species. They appear as statues (which is why the eyes are blank) and move around only when you aren't looking. Very creepy. I think you have to see it to really understand.

Famous lines from this episode include "Don't turn your back, don't look away, and don't blink!" and a cult-level favorite "The angels have the phone box."
