Our friend Zapoose looked to the sky
and saw something most curious.
A beam of light ten miles high
which must, he though, be spurious.
To follow it he roamed the hills,
undaunted by nakedity.
Distracted by some hunger pangs,
he stopped to climb an apple tree.
The day went long and he grew tired
of thinking what the light might be.
At the end he found it besieged
by fireflies amidst the trees.
